Programs Offered

We offer programs for children ranging from 6-week infants to school age before and after school care. If you have any questions about these programs, please feel free to contact us.

Infants:

6 Weeks to 1 Year Old

Our infant area provides the highest quality care in an environment that is designed with the parent and child in mind. While in our care, the children are stimulated through music, exercise, outdoors, blanket/floor time, facial and verbal mimicking as well as lots of hugs and tickles. Our caregivers are dedicated in helping each child develop these skills through a trusting and loving relationship, and a parental daily report is given to update each family on feedings, nap times, diaper changes, and all other activities accomplished throughout the day.

Toddlers:

1 to 2 Year Olds

At this age, children are meeting new challenges which include walking and eventually running. These levels are accomplished the way children learn best, through learning and playing in a stimulating environment which include music, stories, and outdoor play and exploring their environment. Our caregivers are dedicated in helping each child develop these skills through a trusting and loving relationship, and a parental daily report is given to update each family on mealtimes, nap times, toilet training and all other activities accomplished throughout each day.

Preschoolers:

3 Yr-Old to 5 Yr Old

At this age, children are meeting even more challenges and becoming more social. Our preschool program incorporates center time which in addition to the social aspect of centers, children are learning a lot about themselves and others. They’re practicing and exploring many important concepts in a safe environment. Our preschool curriculum provides developmentally appropriate learning opportunities to encourage your child to be confident, successful, life-long learners. The early years are critical to your child’s positive growth and development, and they are eager to learn new skills, experience challenging opportunities, and be encouraged for their strengths and talents. We ensure every child is receiving the creative learning experiences they require and that they are developing physically, intellectually, and socially. Our activities, games, and curriculum are all formulated to engage your child’s natural curiosity and provide a foundation for lifelong success.

School-Age

As children get older and more independent, they need new challenges. That’s why we offer a school-age program for before and after school care and enrichment programs that address the changing and more varied needs of growing school-age children. After school homework and tutoring is offered. Reading, math, and science activities are also offered to ensure that your child's mind is engaged to help create a lifelong love of learning and exploration.

Curriculum

Our Center uses FunShine Express as our curriculum and is aligned with New Mexico's early learning standards and guidelines.

Infants and Toddlers:

An infant and toddler curriculum looks vastly different to a curriculum for older children and designed to meet the unique and individual needs of each child. Quality care is not babysitting, but centered around a close, caring bond using routines and relationships with caregivers. Children have daily needs that must be met for them to learn, develop positive attachment to primary caregivers, and know they will be loved and taken care of. Most of these needs revolve around basic care routines. The FunShine Express Curriculum is designed to incorporate activity ideas into these care routines to create meaningful interactions each day. Children will be engaged through meaningful play opportunities through hands on learning for every stage of development using research-based activities and safe exploration using the unique materials included in the FunShine Express Buttercups kit. The kit covers language, sensory play, movement, American Sign Language, play manipulatives, music playlists, and board books.

Preschool:

Preschoolers need many opportunities to explore, grow, and make meaningful choices on their own and to have the opportunity to make mistakes and figure out things on their own. FunShine Curriculum foster creativity and promote emotional, cognitive, social, language, and physical development using developmentally appropriate activities to build self-esteem and intrinsic motivation for learning. The activities are designed to help address each child socially, physically, emotionally, cognitively and to stimulate thinking, reasoning, decision-making, and problem-solving. Based on current early learning research, the materials we suggest in our curricula actively engage children and support differences in learning styles, maturity, and interests. Preparing children to succeed in school and in life is the core of our childcare curriculum. Centers are incorporated into learning and play and are changed daily. Some center activities are done with the teacher, while others are completed with peers or individually. Centers allow children to grow in their social skills as they navigate interactions with their peers during this time, and it is happening almost constantly. Our caregivers are dedicated in helping each child develop these skills through a trusting and loving relationship,

School Age:

We offer explorative learning in reading, math, and science activities. Homework help and tutoring will be offered to ensure children are successful and establish a connection between school and after care. Assorted activities are also offered to ensure that your child's mind is engaged to help create a lifelong love of learning and exploration and play.

Enrollment

Enrolling and/or reserving a future space for your child is simple. Contact us to schedule a time for you and your child to visit us in our center. We will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to meet us and learn more about what we have to offer. This time spent gives all involved an opportunity to get to know one another and to make sure that all personalities mix well. This is important and helps to ensure that everyone is comfortable with their surroundings and expectations. After this on-site visit, the registration process may begin. There are various forms to be completed and others to be read. Once they are read, completed, signed, and the deposit has been paid, your child's space will be reserved, and the final step is to decide on a start date.

Parent Corner

Nutrition and Meals

Good nutrition contributes to effective learning in children. Numerous studies have demonstrated that eating breakfast regularly will boost your child's ability to learn, to think quickly, to pay attention and even to get along with others. Children who regularly have breakfast in the morning solve problems more easily and are less likely to be restless or irritable before lunch. Other studies indicate that skipping breakfast has a negative effect on attentiveness, verbal fluency, memory and the brain's ability to make use of new information.

Our child nutrition program includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and three snacks – one in the morning, one in the afternoon and one in the evening. Every meal and snack is nutritionally balanced and meet state guideline requirements regarding food components and portion size.

All meals will be served and enjoyed in a family setting with teachers and children eating together and talking about the food prepared and served. Older toddlers, preschoolers and school age students will be encouraged to serve themselves and try new foods. Infants and toddlers will be offered new foods and encouraged to learn different textures and tastes.

Our Staff
We require on-going training for our staff through state and center focused professional development, orientation videos, in-house training, and other certified professionals in the education field. All of our staff are trained in First Aid and CPR and required to pass an intensive criminal and background check.
